Die Anzahl der kriegerischen Konflikte wird infolge der Klimaerwärmung und aufgrund von Wassermangel oder Überschwemmungen von ganzen Landstrichen und Städten, die im angestiegenen Meeresspiegel versinken, weiterhin zunehmen. 100 Mio. Menschen werden in den nächsten Jahrzehnten ihr Zuhause verlieren und müssen migrieren. Daher rechnet auch das IKRK und die Weltbank mit zahlreichen weiteren Konflikten und Kriegshandlungen um die schwindenden Ressourcen.
